About the role
Electric vehicles are one of the fastest-growing distributed energy resources on our platform. Through integrations with major automakers and charger manufacturers, EnergyHub ingests telematics and charging data from a large and rapidly expanding fleet of EVs enrolled in utility managed charging programs. EnergyHub's EV team is hiring a Data Analyst to turn that data into insight: understanding how drivers charge, how programs perform, where our data falls short, and where the next product opportunities lie. Your work will shape how utilities, automakers, and EnergyHub itself understand EV load, and will directly inform the products we build next. The ideal candidate is passionate about data analytics, curious about how people actually use their EVs, and motivated to apply their skills to solving the climate crisis. Main Responsibilities
Analyze large-scale EV telematics and charging data from multiple OEM and charger integrations to surface insights into driver charging behavior, program enrollment and retention, event participation, and load shifting outcomes. Define, monitor, and improve data quality for EV OEM data feeds: identify gaps, latency, duplicates, and anomalies across sources, build automated checks, and work with engineering and OEM partners to resolve root causes. Track and report on trends across the EV fleet, including vehicle and charger mix, charging patterns by time of day and season, home vs. public charging, and shifts in behavior as programs and incentives change. Build clear documentation and training materials to enable others to use the assets and insights you create independently. Identify and quantify opportunities for new EV products and program designs, such as smarter charging optimization, new incentive structures, and new OEM or utility offerings, and partner with product managers to validate them with data. Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and automated reporting in EnergyHub's BI stack so that product, client success, and utility clients have timely, accurate, and actionable views of EV program performance. Collaborate with engineering, data science, product management, client success, and OEM partnership teams to develop business logic, detailed requirements, and research questions of interest to the company and our clients. Other duties as assigned
Key Skills and Experience
You are passionate about finding valuable insights in large, complex datasets, and you are curious about electric vehicles and how people use them 3+ years of experience as a data analyst When you can't find the data you need, you are creative enough to infer and/or generate it from other information that is available, and you can clearly articulate the limitations of that inference You have experience developing analytics dashboards that are useful and visually compelling You have experience developing automated reporting systems with business intelligence tools You have experience assessing and improving data quality, and you are comfortable working with messy, high-volume, time-series data from third-party sources You can translate an analytical finding into a product or business recommendation and communicate it clearly to technical and non-technical audiences You enjoy communicating with others and developing real relationships with colleagues, clients, and external partners You are excited about the opportunities of working with very large datasets from disparate sources You have the ability to describe your ideal analytics schema to data engineering team members and work with them to improve a data warehouse You share our vision of a carbon-free distributed energy future You are passionate about empowering users through timely, accurate, and actionable data You have experience with one or more BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Sigma, Looker), cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), data transformation frameworks (e.g. dbt), and data science tools (e.g. Python/Jupyter, Julia, R) You have experience with data warehouse architecture
Preferred Skills and Experience
Extensive experience with dbt / Snowflake / SQL Experience with EV, telematics, connected-vehicle, charging, or other IoT device data, or with the energy or utility industry Experience working with third-party API data and partner-delivered data feeds, including defining data contracts and quality standards A strong background in mathematics and statistics in order to provide support to clients who need to understand complex statistics and to collaborate with data scientists who will use the analytics platform for statistical analysis Experience supporting product discovery or go-to-market decisions with quantitative analysis
