Staff Infrastructure Engineer

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the reliability, performance and cost of a company's production cloud infrastructure, from architecture and database operations to setting the standards the engineering team works to. Advise leadership on early-stage infrastructure choices as the platform scales.

What you'll do

• Design and evolve cloud architecture on AWS.

• Run production database operations, including sizing, replication and recovery.

• Set and maintain reliability standards for production systems.

• Improve the performance and cost efficiency of live infrastructure.

• Advise the team on which languages and databases to adopt early on.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Deep AWS expertise.

• Hands-on experience tuning and operating PostgreSQL in production.

• Experience building cloud infrastructure from scratch, provisioning resources directly rather than only using existing internal tools.

• Proven results improving response times or spend in running environments, with support for time-sensitive workloads.

• Daily use of AI coding tools in infrastructure work, or a willingness to learn them.

Bonus points

• Prior experience reworking the design of a live system to handle growth without downtime.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
